Why After Sun Skincare Matters More Than You Think
You know that moment when you’ve come inside after a day in the sun — the heat, the dryness — and your skin is just thirsty for hydration and repair? Heavy night creams feel like too much, too soon. And aloe? Comforting for a minute, but then your skin still feels tight and unsatisfied.
That’s exactly what Frey Skin is here for. Light enough for the in-between, powerful enough to be your stand-alone your night routine.
- Aloe + Vitamin B5 → soothe and rehydrate where UVB damage shows up (think redness + dryness).
- Hydroxytyrosol → our hero olive antioxidant that goes deeper, targeting the silent damage UVA rays cause (collagen breakdown, premature aging - that sneaky stuff SPF doesn’t always block).
Sunscreen shields you from a lot, but not all. And let’s be real, are you actually reapplying your SPF every two hours? (If yes, we’re impressed 👏. If not… you’re in good company.)
Whether you wore sunscreen or not, Frey Skin steps in to soothe, hydrate, and repair the damage that doesn’t stop when you step out of the sun.
So Why Did I Start Frey Skin?
I know what some of you are thinking: You’re not a chemist, dermatologist, or skincare formulator… how can you start a brand?
The thing is: I’m not trying to be. I’m the project manager. 🤓
I spent the last few years digging into what really happens to skin after sun exposure. I read the science, hunted down the right ingredients, and then partnered with an EU-based lab whose chemists are doing all the heavy lifting — formulation, stability testing, sensitivity testing, the whole deal. No sketchy kitchen experiments here.
And sourcing? We go straight to producers. One of my favorites: a Swiss company that uses green tech to upcycle olive water (normally waste from olive oil production) into hydroxytyrosol, our star antioxidant. I’ll be visiting their olive groves and factory next year and can’t wait.
The Bigger Picture
So no, I’m not the chemist. (Though sometimes I think about going back to school for it.) I’m the one pulling together the people, the science, and the vision.
Because life is short. And if there’s a dream to chase, why not go for it?
Thanks for being here at the very start. Having your support along the way means the world.
